Can foreigners buy property in Bulgaria?

The simple answer is that anyone can buy property freely in Bulgaria, no matter what your nationality.

Previously there were various restrictions which meant that foreigners would either need to set-up a Bulgarian company in order to purchase the property, or obtain some form of Bulgarian residency (such as temporary residency), however, these are NO longer in place.

There are also no longer any restrictions on the type of property a foreigner can buy. This means anyone can freely buy an apartment or land without restrictions.

Furthermore, taxes are the same for Bulgarians and non-Bulgarian citizens.
